The gem that is Woodland Heights located in Huntsville, Ontario
Spring Social 2025
Dear friends and neighbours of Woodland Heights,
What a great day and turnout we had for our WH “Spring Celebration and Social” last Sunday! With almost 50 in attendance and a new shade canopy on hand, we enjoyed visiting and catching up over sweets and treats. It was especially nice to welcome some new faces, which is a trend we hope continues with each event 😃. Don’t be shy. Come on out - you’re among friends!
As an educational component, we were treated to a special presentation by our own resident, Alison Papas, with valuable insight and tips on living with nature from the Aspen Valley Wildlife Refuge. Young and old enjoyed the “Track & Scat Challenge” and the Beaver dam building contest.
And thanks to Alison, you can sign up for a private group tour limited to Woodland Heights residents ONLY to learn more and meet their resident animals - up close and personal! We have reserved the dates of SATURDAY, JUNE 14 and WEDNESDAY, JULY 9, both at 9 AM, which is when the animals are most active. Tours are limited to 15 people only and require a donation of $25 each for ages six and up, made at the gates. Funds go directly towards food and support for the animals.
As we learned, Aspen Valley is a non-profit organization that relies considerably on private donations. Expenses continue to go up and the need for wildlife rehabilitation increases, so this is a cause you may wish to explore if you’re a nature lover. We have residents signed up for each date at this point, but there is still room for others to join. If you’d like to sign up, kindly email Alison.papas@aspenvalley.org (CC’d here) to be added to the guest list.
As for our community calendar, there will be a new edition of the Woodland Heights Herald out in July. Plan to ‘save the date’ for our signature Annual Street Party & BBQ in late September. Watch the Herald for all the details.
In the meantime, for those who can, we hope you’ll take advantage of one of the tours. We’d like to take this opportunity to thank you for your support, and wish you a safe, healthy and fun summer with your friends and family!
Warmly,
Your Woodland Heights Social Committee
